Yes a pet toy.  For years paranormal investigators have used items designed for other uses on paranormal investigations.  The K-ll was designed as an electricians tool to detect electrical leaks. Surveillance cameras used to capture paranormal anomalies.  Digital recorders, vibration sensors, motion sensors and more.

We use so many items as trigger objects on our investigations. REM bears, children's toys, playing cards, balls, candy, whiskey and even a plasma ball. This pet toy is a trigger object we use on investigations.  Turn it on and it will flash for a few seconds and set.  Then place it on the floor and it will light if there is any vibration around it or if it is touched.
